FAQ

How can I book my stay at Trullo Davide?

Booking is simple—just drop us a line using the contact form to check availability.

What are the check-in and check-out times?

Check-in is 16.00-21.00, and check-out is by 11.00, but we are as flexible as possible.

Where is Trullo Davide located?

Trullo Davide is in the centre of the triangle formed by Martina Franca, Locorotondo and Alberobello, with all three about a 10-minute drive away. Martina Franca, with its extraordinary Baroque old town, Locorotondo, one of the Most Beautiful Villages in Italy with its narrow medieval streets in concentric circles, and the UNESCO world heritage site of Alberobello all have an excellent variety of restaurants, bars, and shops.

The beautiful ‘white city’ of Ostuni, located on top of a hill with fantastic sea views is about half an hour’s drive east while the stunning cliff-top town of Polignano a Mare and the old harbor town of Monopoli are not much more to the north. A little further away, but within easy day-trip distance, are the famous baroque city of Lecce, ‘The Florence of the South’, and the spectacular cave-dwelling city of Matera. Also within easy reach are the extensive cave complexes at Castellana Grotte and the Egnatia archaeological site.

How about transport?

By air, there’s a choice of two international airports within about an hour’s drive, Bari to the north and Brindisi to the south, are served by Alitalia, British Airways, Ryanair, Easyjet, Transavia and others. These cities also have ferries to Greece, Albania and Croatia.

Once you are here, a car is pretty much essential as larger supermarkets, restaurants and so on are not within walking distance and do not offer home-delivery. Our neighbour runs a taxi service, including group transport, so that is also an option.

An excellent way to explore the region is by bike using the 230km network of cycle paths, known as the Acquedotto Pugliese, which runs through the Valle d’Itria.

How far is the sea?

The sea is around a half-hour drive away, with a choice of the Adriatic to the north or the Ionian to the south, both offering excellent beaches and a wealth of attractive coastal villages.

Are there vineyards nearby?

Puglia is rightly famous for its wines and the Valle d’Itria is at the heart of its viniculture. In recent decades, wine production focusing on local grape varieties and quality over quantity has flourished. There are so many excellent wine producers large and small in the area, and discovering them is a joy. We are happy to recommend some of our favourites and arrange tastings for you.
